Cloudways Exclusive Virtual Hosting Review

Cloudways Review

Cloudways is an exclusive virtual hosting service, with prices starting at just $10 per month. They also offer hourly billing, with monthly settlements and a pay-after-use system, ensuring that renewal prices don’t increase. Unlike the previously introduced SiteGround and Bluehost, which primarily offer shared virtual hosting, Cloudways is dedicated. With SiteGround and Bluehost, the renewal price differs from the initial purchase price. Their initial purchase is cheaper, but subsequent renewals are priced differently. However, all three virtual hosting providers offer free website migration services. If we’re not satisfied, we can easily switch to another server. If interested, you can click to view the previously introduced SiteGround and Bluehost.

Flexible cloud hosting with easy one-click setup (no command line, no cPanel, no wasted time). Cloudways’ clean and intuitive interface makes customizing and launching cloud servers easy, without being bogged down by technical documentation or getting stuck on debugging error messages.

24/7/365 Free Technical Support

If you have technical issues, you can always find online customer service, which is very convenient. For most Cloudways customers, the standard support is more than sufficient. It’s free and includes 24/7/365 real-time chat guidance for any operation on the Cloudways platform. Each request is directed to a specially trained support team member.

Enterprise-Level Performance and Security

The Cloudflare Enterprise add-on sits atop the Cloudways platform, offering advanced protection against hackers and edge threats. DDoS attacks are mitigated within 3 seconds through a dedicated IP range, and priority routing and protection ensure maximum speed and availability. The Web Application Firewall (WAF) analyzes millions of sites and 32 million requests per second to intelligently identify and block attackers and emerging threats at the edge.

4. Choose a server and configure it. I suggest selecting DigitalOcean, with a size of 1GB. For the location, choose the place closest to your target audience. The default version of WordPress is fine. “Your Application”, “Your Server”, and “Your Project” are the names for the application, server, and project respectively. You can name them yourself for easier categorization. The application refers to the installed WordPress, the server is the one we purchase, and the project means we can manage different servers and applications as projects. After making your selections, click “LAUNCH NOW”.

5. Wait for the server installation to complete. We then enter a three-day trial period. If we want to migrate a website, we need to upgrade the account. Click “UPGRADE MY ACCOUNT” to do so.

Image 241

6. Next, we complete the payment information. Cloudways operates on a post-use billing system, with monthly settlements. So even after linking a credit card, they won’t charge immediately. Additionally, if you prefer not to link a credit card, you can contact online customer service to make payments via PayPal.

7. After upgrading the account, click on “Applications”, select the WordPress we installed, and then click on “Migration Tools”. We can then use the official migration tool to complete the website migration. If you have a new website, you can skip this step.

8. Link your domain. Click on “Domain Management”, then click “ADD DOMAIN” to bind your domain here. Set your frequently used domain as PRIMARY.

9. Domain Resolution: I suggest binding the domain to Cloudflare first, and then pointing the domain to the server’s IP. In the “Content” section, input your server’s IP. You can refer to the settings in the image below. After adding the resolution record, it usually takes effect within a few minutes. You can open the website to check.

10. Navigate to “SSL Certificate” on the left side of the management panel. Then enter your email address (it doesn’t have to be the domain email), input the primary domain (if you want to add SSL for aliases, click “add domain” to add multiple domains), and then click the “Install” button to install the SSL certificate.
